Success in the TOP 100 innovation competition

Überlingen / Munich – This year sees the 25th anniversary of the nationwide competition TOP 100, honoring the most innovative small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany. This year’s winners include Device Insight. The Munich-based IoT pioneer was able to convince the jury under Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke with its innovative-friendly senior management, outward-looking approach and climate of innovation. TOP 100 mentor Ranga Yogeshwar presented the award to CEO Reinhold Stammeier and his wife Ulla Stammeier at the award ceremony in Ludwigsburg on June 29.
Success in the Innovation Top 100

In the 25th round of the TOP 100 innovation competition, the jury, led by Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, examined 471 applications from small and medium-sized enterprises in three size categories on behalf of compamedia. For the first time, the winners included Device Insight, the Munich-based IoT platform provider whose solutions drive innovation in the fields of Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0. The company’s innovation management was rated “A+” by TOP 100 (TOP 100 average “A-”). In his summary on innovation, Prof. Dr. Franke acknowledged Device Insight as “a company that takes innovation seriously”, setting itself apart from the average small or medium-sized enterprise.

Outstanding innovation management

Device Insight was able to distinguish itself thanks to its senior management which actively supports the company’s innovative activity. An outward approach is also of great importance to Device Insight, as shown in its customer orientation, numerous partnerships and collaborations as well as active trend scouting and internal hackathons. Innovation success is however mainly based on the corporate culture promoting employees’ innovative and entrepreneurial activities. Here, too, Device Insight stands out, scoring highly with an exceptional number of employee ideas and suggestions for improvement and fast feedback, able to quickly realize innovations with the best chances of success.

The 90 employees appreciate the open structures in the TOP 100 company that also allow changes of roles taking personal development into consideration. Further innovation drivers for Device Insight include its team spirit, room for freedom and its shared passion for the Internet of Things. This climate of innovation has not least contributed to the success of the Munich-based company which has, since 2003, developed into one of the leading IoT platform providers in the German-speaking market.

“The TOP 100 innovation award is a very special recognition for us and further confirms our day-to-day thoughts and actions” says CEO Reinhold Stammeier. “As a pioneer in the world of digital transformation, which is fundamentally changing economy and society, we at Device Insight have been committed to realizing the opportunities and visions of Industry 4.0 and IoT for our customers for 15 years. My thanks must go to the efforts of my employees – thanks to them, we always have tomorrow’s solutions in sight and that’s why we are able to rank alongside the innovation leaders in German medium-sized enterprises. They all contribute to the success of Device Insight and have thus made the TOP 100 award possible.”

The TOP 100 innovation prize is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises including numerous national and international market leaders and “hidden champions”. Like Device Insight, 14% of the 2018 winners work in IT development and consultancy, 9% in machine and plant construction, 6% in construction and trade, 6% in electronics and electrical engineering, followed by the metalworking and automotive industries.
